Piaffe: Un Impactante Debut en el Festival de Cine de Locarno

Piaffe, the 2022 German fantasy drama directed by Ann Oren and starring Simone Bucio & Simon(e) Jaikiriuma Paetau, made a striking debut at the 75th Locarno Film Festival, where it had its world premiere on 11 August 2022. 

Competing in the International Competition for the Golden Leopard, the film captivated audiences and juries alike with its unique blend of fantasy and drama, ultimately earning the prestigious First Prize Award from the Junior Jury. 

This recognition at Locarno marked an auspicious start for Oren’s feature directorial debut.

Piaffe, das deutsche Fantasy-Drama aus dem Jahr 2022 unter der Regie von Ann Oren und mit Simone Bucio & Simon(e) Jaikiriuma Paetau in den Hauptrollen, feierte ein beeindruckendes Debüt beim 75. Filmfestival von Locarno, wo er am 11. August 2022 seine Weltpremiere feierte. 

Im Wettbewerb um den Goldenen Leoparden in der internationalen Kategorie fesselte der Film sowohl das Publikum als auch die Juroren mit seiner einzigartigen Mischung aus Fantasy und Drama und gewann schließlich den prestigeträchtigen ersten Preis der Junior-Jury.

Diese Anerkennung in Locarno markierte einen vielversprechenden Start für Orens Regiedebüt.

Piaffe, el drama fantástico alemán de 2022 dirigido por Ann Oren y protagonizado por Simone Bucio y Simon(e) Jaikiriuma Paetau, debutó con fuerza en el 75º Festival de Cine de Locarno, donde tuvo su estreno mundial el 11 de agosto de 2022.

Participando en la Competencia Internacional por el Leopardo de Oro, la película cautivó tanto a la audiencia como a los jurados con su mezcla única de fantasía y drama, obteniendo finalmente el prestigioso Primer Premio del Jurado Joven.

Este reconocimiento en Locarno marcó un auspicioso debut de Oren en su primer largometraje como directora.

Synopsis

When her sibling Zara suffers a nervous breakdown, the introvert Eva is forced to take on Zara’s job as a Foley artist. She struggles to create sounds for a commercial featuring a horse, and then a horsetail starts growing out of her body. Empowered by her tail, she lures a botanist into an affair, through a game of submission. Piaffe is a visceral journey into control, gender, and artifice.

Synopsis

Als ihre Schwester Zara einen Nervenzusammenbruch erleidet, ist die introvertierte Eva gezwungen, Zaras Job als Geräuschemacherin zu übernehmen. Sie kämpft damit, Geräusche für einen Werbespot mit einem Pferd zu erzeugen, und dann beginnt ein Pferdeschwanz aus ihrem Körper zu wachsen. Ermächtigt durch ihren Schwanz, verführt sie einen Botaniker zu einer Affäre, durch ein Spiel der Unterwerfung. Piaffe ist eine viszerale Reise in die Welt der Kontrolle, des Geschlechts und des Künstlichen.

Sinopsis

Cuando su hermana Zara sufre un colapso nervioso, la introvertida Eva se ve obligada a asumir el trabajo de Zara como artista de Foley. Lucha por crear los sonidos para un comercial protagonizado por un caballo, y entonces una cola de caballo empieza a crecer en su cuerpo. Empoderada por su cola, seduce a un botánico para tener una aventura, a través de un juego de sumisión. Piaffe es un viaje visceral hacia el control, el género y el artificio.
